Start what?
I'm not really interested in polemics one how useless "the system" is.
There are some specific reasons for this, but in any case my original
stamtent was directed as someone who is, IMO, part of a solution to that,
a doer, not a talker.

I'll keep you posted on the outcome, at least. Actually, I'm not really
even sure what I'm engaging in is a debate, but rather more in the way of
clarification, largely for purposes of organizing something else.

I really, really hope you are saying this in the very limited context
of expertise in a particular discipline, and not as a broader statement
about education in general. On the narrow ground, I would, in general,
agree with you, except to say that there are important exceptions and 
precedents being set. More broadly, I sense that you're simply out of
your depth, regarding education as a whole.

Frankly, Bryan, I don't care if you hold the Stanley Cup and the Brooklyn
Bridge.
