I was an original NT 3.1 beta tester and ran production NT servers
from 1994-1999.
I had 1 rule of thumb:
At least a weekly reboot, if not daily
If the system ran applications, I rebooted daily. My NT 3.5 file
servers froze an average of every 45 days, NT 4.0 every 15 days. My
3.5 application servers froze an average of every 10 days, my NT 4.0
every 4 days.
I no longer run NT (nor 2000) servers, period.
