Kev ... not local to you, but an excellent source of used boxes for me is DCI
on US-24 south of I-96 in Redford. It's a hole in the wall joint that handles
contracts with Henry Ford CC and often has used stuff such as the HP Vectra
VL I am using at the moment. I bought it for $75 and it came with a 2.3 g HD,
P-II 233mhz cpu and 64 m ram with onboard audio / video CD-Rom & 3.5" floppy.
For $75 it's an excellent router / FW.

I have a faster machine here but I am fiddling with using it for a server.
While the Vectra is a serious step down from a K7-750 with 1.5g ram and a
nice video card, it is still a serviceable desktop machine.

It is running Mandrake 8.0 following an internet install off
ftp.wtfo.com/pub/linux/mandrake/8.0/i586
