>Anyone using HP

Do you mean HP drives or HP Travan drives? Use several HP 8mm DAT drives, the
expensive ones are VERY fast. Love 'em.

>or Seagate Travan tape drives for backups?

I wouldn't backup on a travan tape, what would be the point? Might as well use
Western Digital IDE drives.

Pay alot for the tape drive, and the tapes are "cheap" and reliable. Buy a
"cheap" tape drive and the tapes are "expensive" and unreliable. I'd recommend
4mm or 8mm tapes, or a DLT drive if your loaded.

Of course, I used to use a Travan (version 5?) drive. I don't anymore, never
will again. Fortunately QIC seems to have gone the way of all flesh, and maybe
Travan will follow soon.

>How about Arkeia verses BRU for software?

Used to use BRU and one location, very nice. Haven't used a version if a
couple of years however.
