Bruce ... external and PCI?

I can solidly recommend the Smartlink 5634 serial port modem or
the Diamond Supra 56k USB (MDLUG'r Dave Clark got to to run on
an early 2.4 kernel for me). Both are fine devices that work
well with Linux. Up until I got cable, I was using the Smartlink
and will be keeping it around "for emergencies".

Plug it in, reboot (should be able to just restart the
appropriate services but I am not knowledgeable enough to do
that ... yet.) and it installs and runs. Pass your ISP info
along to your comm program and you should be in business with
either of these devices.
