I'm running slack 8 on a:
dual Tyan mobo,
512mb ram(2x256 micron pc133),
1x7.5GB-ext2fs =/
2x40gb-rieserfs =home and groups
2.4.5 kernel

I would like it to be a samba file server maybe a
ltsp server. There are too many goodies in the
stock kernel. So I wanted to make a kernel with
only the goodies I need.

I do a:

make dep -j 5 ; make clean ; make bzImage -j
5 ; make modules -j 5 ; make modules_install
about half-way through make dep it says kernel
paging request fault.

I put NT on it first and it blue screened too
much. So i said what the hey lets do it up right.
I'm beginning to think hardware. Maybe
memory??
Any ideas?
