Anyone else using Open Office?

I just grabbed the latest binary build (638?) and installed that.  I used
spadmin to suck in all the Truetype fonts from
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType. And low and behold it did it!  So
apparently TrueType support is working, or so I assume.  This plus the
fact that gnome-print/gnumeric just added support for TrueType fonts makes
me very happy, or at least as happy as a mere mortal whose already
burned up about 38% of his anticipated life span can be.

But font spacing seems a little "chaotic".  Some letters seem to be given
lots of elbow room,  others appear to be engaged in purient behaviour.  If
anyone can give me any pointers about this it would be greatly
appreciated.
