First off, understand that vendor training is concerned with:

  1. Pushing vendor product
  2. Differentiating resellers from one another

Of which, both are about making money. It is a win-win situation
for the vendor selling the product and the reseller selling and
supporting it. The customer has no role.

Here in Orlando, we have an NT user group. The Orlando NT
Professional Association (ONTPA -- http://www.orlandont.org). The
group and list is not about supporting sysadmins, its about
promoting certification and giving vendors an audience. I, among
others, got slammed for posting and answering questions. We left.

Microsoft's support search engine and a few other, select sites.
What I personally cannot stand is how many "articles" are written to
be "Politically Correct" (PC) these days and do not tell you the
_real_problem_.

It requires a license from Microsoft. Reviewing a Microsoft product
without proper authority from Microsoft is a violation of its EULA.
I have seen many reviews, from well-respective media outlets, get
yanked when they technically lambasted Microsoft versus OSS
solutions.

Good question. One day Microsoft is going to awake to the fact that
there are Linux-only admins who don't understand Microsoft solutions
because there are no such answers. That's when their marketshare
will topple.
