FYI, I heard someone has already analyzed Rijndael and found a way to
reduce the total keyset required to brute force it. Of course, even
with that reduced keyset, it is still bigger and would take longer to
get through than tripple DES, so don't go off saying "it's been cracked"
just yet. ;-PPP
As I mentioned before, it appears that Rijndael won out over Twofish
because of SmartCard applications and power/EMF signature in the
algorithm. The good news for most Blowfish cipher bigots, like myself,
is that most crypto libraries are including ciphers for both Rijndael
and Twofish, so you can choose which one you want to use in your
application.
