I am new to Linux and looking for good starter books to get real world
knowledge. (I do have a decent knowledge of computers, networks, Internet,
and programming in general) Since the cost of good books is a sizable
investment I am hoping for some suggestions.

Any suggestions for any or all of the following topics.

Linux setup, general knowledge and admin.
Looking at ordering "Sams Teach Yourself Linux in 10 Minutes"
DNS/Bind
Thinking about "DNS and BIND (4th Edition)" from O'Reilly
Sendmail
      and "Sendmail" from O'Reilly
Internet/Network Security???
Planning on attending this weeks meeting and going from there...

Any other areas that I should look into? (not interested in Apache at this
time...)

Thanks for any advice
David
