I've already have the latest mt-st package I could find and the problem
with -f still exists.

mt --version
mt-st v. 0.6

    I don't feel this applies in my case. When I Status the drive it reports
everything fine AND I couldn't change it if I wanted to. It's one of those
wonderful Travan drives, remember? <BG>

    Hey, at least I managed to get it working reliably. Then again, that's
dependent on the good karma of the universe too! <BG>
