Thanks to all who responded, I really appreciate the help.

As far as the -f or -t switch, it really doesn't matter which one is used,
the drive doesn't respond and the session hangs. As a matter of fact, it
hangs on any mt command with no activity from the drive.

On the SCSI ID, I set the controller to 15, the tape drive to 7 and the HD's
at 0,1,2. So there should not be a conflict.

Here's what I'm going to try... I think I'll set the card ID back to 7 and
set the tape drive to 5. Maybe the tape driver is being finicky. If that
doesn't work, I'll install a second SCSI controller and put the tape drive
on that one. Some systems are picky on what controllers connect to which
devices (even though the tape and HD's are on separate channels). If that
doesn't work...
