[KLUG Members] Nautilus: Lord Of The Desktop

I have several RH7.2 Ximian boxes. All work great with Nautilus as the
"desktop file manager"

I have one that was using GMC before the upgrade. Now that Nautilus
learned how to spell P-E-P-P-Y I wanted to switch from GNC to Nautilus.
So I remove GMC (rpm -e gmc)

I start Nautilus, a file manager window opens. All good so far.

I click the paint root window with Nautilus, and BAM it squashes over the
panels. I kill nautilus, WHAM, my panels are back.

I try this several times and get the same result (Yes, I know about the
definition of insanity. But the little voice in my head is who suggested
I keep trying. He is very persuasive).

I've tried toggling the paint desktop with GNOME option in gnomecc, and it
doesn't seem to have any effect.

So has my Nautilus succumbed to Tolkien's 'sin of the artist' or am I
missing something obvious?
