At first, I would have agreed with you. But after thinking about it for a little while I came to the conclusion that it really doesn't matter if we have 7 lists or 20 lists. KLUG will still generate the same number of messages.

By splitting up the general members list into topic specific lists we give the users of KLUG and opportunity to opt-out of reading certain topics that just don't interest them. I, for one, could care less about the os-discuss list. The bantering back and forth about Microsoft vs. Linux is a moot point.... to me. But it is very interesting to others.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the inclusion of more lists in the future.
