Many columnists are finding that simply "roaming" on their notebook
gets them into trouble.

The whole "hardware" thing is a load of BS. UNIX workstation
vendors have been using the on-board Ethernet MAC address for
years. Today, almost every mainboard southbridge chip has an
on-board MAC address, even if the mainboard manufacturer doesn't
connect an Ethernet header to it (or disables it completely). WTF
cannot Microsoft use that?

Like everything else today, it's all about "control." And it amazes
me how much big business can get the courts on their side -- no
matter who is controlling the White House.
