This is a little diffrent than mine, but might work with the tulip_cb driver.
There is a mini-HOWTO for exactly this card at
"ftp://ftp.ocs.com.au/pub/xircom-RBEM56G-howto-1.tar.gz" but it is talking about
2.2.9 so maybe it doesn't really apply.

>>Are the PCMCIA modules loaded?
>I am guessing so.

Tsck, Tsck, Tsck. No guessing allowed.

>When i turn the computer off, and read all the messages

After you boot you can replay those messages with "dmesg"

>it says there. It says something about unloading the card, but there
>are tons of errors saying /dev/modem isnt there. (thats the only one i
>can remember off hand, but there are others) An something else that struck
>me as odd, is that when i start the comptuer is doesnt say Loading Eth0.

Eth0 won'd be starting/stopping unless you've configured the IP (OSI Layer 3,
...sorry... just got done doing network training...) information for the interface.

>So maybe it doesnt have it loading at startup.
>>Did you check out
>>"http://lhd.datapower.com/db/dispproduct.cgi?DISP?282"?
>I am reading all that information as we speak! thanks!
>>If you take the card in and out does the machine beep?
>Yes it does, when i plug it in it beeps and the little red light turns

Cool, that means the cardmgr(?) sees the change on the PCMCIA bus.

>on that is located on the card.
>>What does /proc/pci say?
>PCI devices found:

>thats the only thing relating to eithernet i saw in the file. if u need
>the WHOLE thing, let me know and i'll get typing! :)

Thats enough, it tells us that everything is there and waiting for an
appropriate driver.
