[KLUG Members] remote laptop over internet?

I used to run a web server off of my dialup account. I had a shell script
run in the cron to query what the IP address of the ppp connection was.
This script would then update an HTML page on my ISP's website (which is a
known) with the current IP address of the PPP interface. It would then just
redirect a visitor to the current IP address of my machine.

'ifconfig ppp0 | grep inet | cut -d : -f 2 | cut -d \ -f 1'

is the command I used to isolate the IP address of ppp connection.

Hope this helps.
