Yes, Best Buy sells them for quite a bit less than that.  I have started using
the Adaptec 24?? series for lower end SCSI.  They consume fewer CPU cycles than
the BusLogic Flashpoint series (BT-9??) and the drivers are under more active
development.  Amazing that Best Buy sells a good product and at a reasonable
price.  I also somehow ended up with a Tekram card that I am quite happy with, 
I've seen those about for sub-$100 at places like Onsale and CDW.

The BT-930s and BT-950s seem to be fading away.  I find them in less places for
more money.

If you only want to control hard drives snatch an IBM ServerRAID III of E-bay. 
But they don't work with CD-ROM drives, etc....
