I buy a lot of used stuff because I've been a student for a long time and it's a
good way to save money (sometimes).
Generally, a used item should not cost more than 50% of the current retail
price. If it's more than that it's probably not worth it (especially for
something as important as a SCSI card).
I recently bought a used CDburner/SCSI card together and they're working great.
I also bought a used Parallel port Zip Drive, rackmount cases, and a couple
other things.
