what would be causing telnet to take close to three minuets before showing a
login prompt?  once it gives the prompt though there is no lag in the
commands and displays.

It may have something to do with my IP addressing scheme.

The linux box is at 10.0.0.142

All of my workstations are going to be on 10.0.1.*

Yesterday while my personal machine was still on the 10.0.0.* segment i
didn't seem to have this delay.  Now that I've switched the IP's is when i
get the lag.

Any help greatly appreciated.
