I am running SuSe 7.1 with KDE2 on my laptop, PIII 600/256 MB. My config
for artsd is: artsd -F 5 -S 8192.
I have no problems when logging in, although the sound sometimes isn't
smooth.
Top shows that artsd has a cpu usage of 0.0% and a memory usage of 0.2%

Congrats!!! I did the same some time ago, I am a run linux only user as
well. Both my laptop and workstation run dedicated SuSE 7.1.
The workstation has now an uptime of 174 days and 23:47 hours! The M$
desktop is just standing here aging.
