PLEASE TEST: RPMs for RedHat 7.1, kernels 2.4.2-2, 2.4.9-6

We are pleased to announce we have some test Linux-WLAN 0.1.10 RPMs
available. These RPMs are designed to be installed on a RedHat 7.1
system with either the original 2.4.2-2 kernel or the latest updated
2.4.9-6 kernel, along with the stock pcmcia-cs 3.1.24, from binary
RPM. If you have built a custom kernel and/or installed another
user-space PCMCIA release, these are not guaranteed to work.

PCMCIA (prism2_cs), mini-PCI (prism2_pci) and PLX (prism_plx)
drivers are all included, although I only tested prism2_cs. Both RPMs,
one for 2.4.2-2 and one for 2.4.9-6, are packaged in a tarball with a
README file I urge you to read first. You can download the tarball
here:
ftp://ftp.linux-wlan.org/pub/linux-wlan-ng/linux-wlan-ng-0.1.10-RPMS.tar.gz

Please test, review and comment.

I'm currently having difficulty getting 0.1.10 to build on RedHat
7.2. But I hope to follow shortly with binary RPMs for both RedHat 7.2
and Mandrake 8.1 releases as well. Will be using the same versioning
strategy, one RPM for the original release kernel version and one
RPM for the latest upgrade kernel.

P.S. Because of the kernel/pcmcia-cs interdependency, creating a
SPEC file to accomodate/automate RPM creation is proving to be
near-impossible. Package creation is externally scripted at this
point (when the build itself doesn't fail ;-). So don't expect a SRPM
that will allow you to compile against other kernel/pcmcia-cs
combinations anytime soon. ;-PPP
