[KLUG Members] Using Linux to conrol internet access for WinX boxen.

I've got squid set up to ask for authentication.

If you set your browsers to use the proxy server, a box will pop up
requiring them to enter a username and password.

Under IE for example users can place a checkmark to have the system remember
the username and password (in my mind completely negating the need for user
based authentication) but its a trade off. Squid usernames and passwords
are completely removed from the Linux box's users (meaning your Squid users
do not need to have an account on the Linux box). I do not know if there is
a way to configure windows to automagically pass the currently logged in
username and password to Squid though.
