As with anything "IP", you must have the same application at both
ends. This means either really having the same application at both
ends, or using a service provider to talk to "regular" devices (like
a phone when doing VoIP).
In a nutshell, if you are going to go system-to-system, don't bother
with faxing. Just send your documents via E-mail or HTTP. Setup a
Samba SSA (server-side automation) PDF printer queue to output and,
optionally, automatically E-mail the document.
