Occam. (Ockham is also an acceptable spelling).

As in William of Occam, 1284-1347, theologian and philosopher.  Occam's Razor is
the statement that given one or more possible explanations the simplest should
be accepted based upon the precept that "entities must not be multiplied beyond
what is necessary."  Contrary to popular misconception Occam's Razor does *not*
state that the simplest explantation is "more likely" to be true,  only that is
should be selected from among multiple completing explanations based on the
commonly accepted principles of logic.
