[KLUG Members] KDE/Mandrake question

I'm trying out Mandrake 8.1 right now. So far I am very impressed with this
offering. It is very slick and I'd say works close to 98% right out of the
box with zero tweeking (although I have since used Bastille to close it down
a little).

I do have one question though. When I ask for a process listing it is filled
with instances of kdeinit. At this moment I'd there are 15 instances of it
running. Anybody know what kdeinit is used for? Is it normal to have tons
of instances running at the same time?

I know things like Apache and MySQL often times list multiple instances but
I'd expect that. Does the complexity of the GUI require this?

There's no man page and adding a --help command line option doesn't offer any
more information.

Any ideas would be accepted.
