I've never tried it on Squid, but I've heard it helps a lot.

I use ReiserFS for some of my other partitions on Redhat 7.1.

Works for me.

I haven't researched it, other than reading the interview with 
Hans Reiser who said there wasn't any outstanding problems with
ReiserFS not in the latest kernel.

I use ReiserFS with 2.4.9 at home, and 2.4.3 on my laptop.
No problem so far (knock wood).
