Well, uh,...

One perhaps pertinent bizarre feature of my weird installation is
that whenever I reboot, a USB port shows up as a new hardware feature and
I'm asked if I wish to configure it.  Of course I just ignore it since my
ancient machine predates the development of the USB interface.  What if my
machine thinks my parallel port is a usb port...  pretty strange.
