Esmith is a modified RedHat package, so yes it can be tweaked.  You have
to be careful when you customize files, because it will immediately
overwrite them when using the webadmin.  Instead, you have to create
custom templates and drop them under a similar folder structure under
the templates directory.  It includes:
 -apache for web
 -qmail 4 email
 -Imp for webmail (using ssl)
 -ext2 for filesystem (blah)
 -squid 4 proxy 
 -MySQL, PHP, Perl
 -Samba and appletalk support.
There are a lot of blades (aka plugins) to do other functions that you
can add (look at their FTP server at Mitel, there are a bunch there).
  I have been pretty satisfied with the package.
