*THIS* is why I _love_ Sun! In LGPL'ing StarOffice, they have created a
"standard library" that will "unify" all the commercial and free office
suites. Within a few years, all major, non-Microsoft applications will
import/export, if not use natively, OpenOffice formats.
They've screwed up Java and a host of other things, but they got their
Office suite strategy down perfectly! Way to go Sun!

They "sell" software "like a book" so they can sell it en masse
without a written agreement. But if you want to "transfer" it,
they say it's not "like a book" but "licensed" under agreement.
