Sometimes when tar-ing some files over the network, tar gives an error message that says: file changed as we read it How nice of tar to use an editorial "we." Anyway, what does this mean? I can confirm the file hasn't changed on the system. And extracting the file and comparing it with the original shows no difference. Is this error message significant in regards to data errors? kind regards, bill hollett
