You're welcome. Now, if you want to bring the system up WITHPUT X, you can do 
so by going to the text-only screen at bootstrap load time, and type:
linux 3
which will bring up the system without X. You can also hit ALT-F1 at the 
"black screen"; either method will bring you to a text login, which will give 
you a place to continue troubleshooting this problem.
