Ah yes, good advice. I did look at Installation_Guide.pdf. I haven't set up a printer
yet so I quickly grew tired of wading through that onscreen. I was trying to run
./install (made sense to me). Anyway, I believe I've discovered what won't run: setup
itself

When trying to run it as root with no options or with -net it replies:
bash: ./setup cannot execute binary file

There is no networking other than tcp/ip set up on this machine yet.

I tried chmod 777 setup, but that didn't help. Is it fair to assume then it isn't a
permission issue but a problem with the binary?

A search through the pdf finds no section containing "execute binary".
