I've been having an 'interesting' problem with rpm, in RedHat 7.3. On
one particular machine, rpm -qa and pretty much all query commmands work
just fine, no errors. rpm -U, -i, -e, etc. cause a segmentation fault.
I've tried --rebuilddb, no change. I've also tried moving the
/var/lib/rpm directory, and then running --initdb. That doesn't seem to
have been what I needed either. It seems that the database is okay, (as
the query and such work fine). -v seems to work well, as well.
Any thoughts on what I might do, or am I probably going to end up just
having to reinstall the machine or something? Has anyone else had
anything similar? I believe that there are only a few non-redhat
packages installed, the only one I can think of off-hand is possibly
ldap server...
Thanks in advance.
