No. 

I've used Linux since 0.99a (pre-RedHat) and have NEVER experienced a corrupt
filesystem with ext2 (or at least one that didn't involve over-zealous use of dd
or fdisk).    I have also used ext3 extensively,  without any problems.

MAKE SURE YOUR I/O SUBSYSTEM IS STABLE!  IDE has no reliable bus error
correction; be afraid, be very afraid.

Yes, there is very little debate about that.  Extremely large files, ACLs, fast
block allocation,  leafed directory structures...  All things ext3 can't touch.

Unfotunately it is not supported by RH.

Depends on the application.  Lots of sites larger than this use ext2/ext3
without runs, drips, or errors.
