I recently learned that the new Debian 3.0 (woody) is now supporting
the PA-RISC processor as part of it's standard distribution.
(HP-Unix servers and workstations are based on the PA-RISC processor)

I downloaded and burned the install CD, and installed it an old
HP-7000/735 workstation my employer retired awhile back. It installed
and runs without a problem. Even X-windows runs in 1280x1024 resolution
but is slow, probably because it's only supported by the frame buffer.
(and the fact the 7000/735 has only a 99 Mhz CPU :)

This could be a way to make use of older hardware, which is discontinued
or soon to be discontinued support, by current releases of HP-UX.
