Agreed. I installed it last night / this morning on my Athlon XP1700 and it flies! Nautilus is finally useful.
The tabbed terminal is really cool. If I have the terminal set to 'transparent' then I do notice a little slowdown when moving the window or adding/removing tabs.
The menu structure is nice. Gone is the control-panel (at least as far as I've looked). I kinda liked having everything in one place but I suppose I'll get used to it.
Being able to create launchers directly on the desktop is long overdue.
A couple of things I've noticed so far (all related to the keyboard):
1. I can't get the keyboard repeat to work. It was off by default and when I turned it on it just bounces the keyboard (ie. when I type an 'a' I get 'aa')
2. When I ssh into my mail server and run mutt I have ^J mapped to 'send the message'. It's grabbing the keystroke and somehow it acting as if I pressed enter. I'm using gnome-term and haven't tried it with Xterm yet.
3. Alt-Fn doesn't switch workspaces as it did before. Other things keep popping up.
So, I know somethings up with my keyboard definitions. I'll look further tonight when I get home.
