I am pleased to announce that the complete collection of source RPM files,
updated as of this writing, released by the same Linux distributor (they
have opted not to be mentioned) who has made headgear of a certain color
well-known, is now available.

Updated source for two releases of the above is now available, 7.3 and
8.0. If you already have the source code CD's, I will be happy to supply
you with only the updates; if you prefer the complete set, they are avail-
able as well. Since these initial release, 49 source RPMs have been issued
for 7.3 and are most current (237 MB), and 12 (165 MB) for 8.0.

The collection of source RPMs will be updated as needed, and an announce-
ment will be made regarding them will be posted here each week. THe details
regarding what source RPMS have been replaced with newer ones, and which
ones have been replced more than once is availabel on request.

WHO NEEDS THESE CD's?

THis is for people who are interested in having any and all of the source
code one of the leading Linux distributions on-hand at all times. This
group of people includes advanced system assemblers and those who need to
deal with sets of features that are unavailable with the binary RPMs dis-
tributed, or who want to tailor the software for significantly different
sets of features than the ones set up by the supplied binaries.

If all you are doing is installing a RPM-based Linux distributions (e.g.,
BSware), or installing it and recompiling the kernel and/or kernel modules,
you ** DO NOT ** need these CD's.

If what you want to do is reconfigure software that is installed on your
system, and a number of configuration files need to be changed, you
** DO NOT ** need these CD's.

If you want to rebuild something other than the kernel with different
defaults, other or additional directives, or with different values
integrated into the software itself, or if you want to follow instruc-
tions that for some reason REQUIRE recompilation, then PERHAPS these CD's
are for you, especially if you do these things more than occcasionally,
and you don't quite know which components of a system will be the target
for such treatment next.

If you have any doubt that you need these CD's, please send me private
e-mail with your questions and I will advise you. For some recent projects,
I have found that keeping updated sets locally available has been helpful,
and these sets are offered as a result of that work.
