I think everything starts with the default sizes, including the message
text portion.

We have high resolution monitors on the HPUX workstations, so the text
needs to be larger for most people to read it easily.  I need to
increase the default font size.

Yes, that works.  (very slowly . . .)

Yes.  I added the font server on the Linux box to HPUX's font path. 
(after enabling TCP connections in the Linux xfs config). 

That didn't help.  :-(
