Ditto.  I use the burnproof option all the time.  BUT your CDR DRIVE has
to SUPPORT IT!  Many do NOT.  If you're only burning at 4X, then you
either have slow media or a old drive.  If it's an old drive, then I bet
it doesn't support burnproof.

OTOH, on old drives where I gave it the burnproof option, it only gave a
warning/error, continued, and didn't cause any harm to the burned CDR.
However, YMMV!!!  :-)
