Why would rsh report back that the connection was refused? Connecting from one RH 7.3 machine to another in a LAN. The two machines can ping each other. The admin (root) is the same for both machines. The command was run as root from the first machine. Command used was: rsh [ip#] tar -cf - [remotedir] |gzip myfile Stuff in [brackets] had "real" info in it. thanks, bill hollett
