True.  But I'd make a backup copy of smb.conf and MACHINE.SID off somewhere
safe.  I've never had a problem with a Samba upgrade wiping files,  but I've
blown away MACHINE.SID by accident, and if your Samba server is in a domain it
gets ugly.  I wouldn't risk it,  especially for the effort of making two
copies.  

The samba source code has a makerpms script,  I use that, and then upgrade as
mentioned above.  I'd jump to 2.2.3 if I were you,  2.2.1 and 2.2.2 have some
scaling problems.
