[KLUG Members] video editing software

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good video editing program?  It would be 
nice if it had the features for dvd creation too or if there is another 
program for that part of it.... I am not sure if the menus etc on dvd are 
created outside the video stuff or not (havn't done any of that yet).

I am trying to decide if I want to do the work in Linux or if I want to get 
one of the new imacs to do the work and use imovie and the other tools that 
come with that.
