A dual boot isn't too hard (usually). Is your partition NTFS or FAT32?

Here's what I would do:

- backup important files on your win2k partition
- convert win2k partition to FAT32 (may not be necessary...)
- Use partition magic or FIPS to repartition
- Install Linux

The bootloader should recognize the FAT32 partition and allow booting to it.

You can also get one of those micro distros or CD distros.

good luck!
