Hi Buddies,

I just installed the ICPcop firewall ISO image from
http://ipcop.sourceforge.net

  IPCop v0.1.0 ISO Image
  Size: 26443776 (25,2MB)
  MD5: 1bfeb452372066d91aac82e1271c2d70

I looks/acts/smells just like SmoothWall, and according to the IPCop Credit
page:

"IPCop is based on the Smoothwall GPL version, v0.9.9. We are grateful
to them for both inspiring this product and giving us the codebase to
   work with."

Maybe "acts" is not right, maybe better "manners". 8-))

Here are the developers:

  Main Credits
Project Member - Mark Wormgoor (mark@wormgoor.com)
    Project Member - Eric S. Johansson (esj@harvee.billerica.ma.us)
Project Member - Jack Beglinger (jackb_guppy@yahoo.com)
    Testing - Dave Roberts (dave@daver.demon.co.uk)
Graphics Designer - Keith Dawson (dawson@world.std.com)
Website Design - Jonathan Sutherland (x3x93@unb.ca)

It took me about 15 minutes to install IPCop (since I have installed
SmoothWall). I only have a "Green" NIC and a "Red" dialup Sportster modem. The
only default setting I changed was the modem init string from ATZ to ATZ4 (for
hardware flow control).

I have signed up for two of the IPCop mail lists.

On the IPCop "Information" page, there is a "connections" tab, that shows two
items I really like:
  IP masquerading entries
  Netstat TCP entries

Later,
Mike
