On a LAN you might not care so much.

Um, before M$ stopped supporting Win95, you could go to the update site
and install a fixpack to allow encrypted passwords. Now, you either have
to track down the fixpacks yourself or disable encrypted passwords in
Win98 (and hope you can in NT/2K/XP).
