[KLUG Members] OT Search engine placement with google

I used the advise from WebPosition Gold last year to help me rewrite my
metatags and shape my content.  I did everything a good web designer
should do and even have the alt tags customized, page names...everything
for specific hits. I submitted my domain to many search engines.
(including google).  I can't pull up my *&$! site.  Not even with
domain-logic.com as the search phrase.  

I know that search engines are spidering on my server because I found
the googlebot in my log files.

Can someone tell me why forgotten college research papers rank in the
first coupla hits, but my site is nowhere in google.

I used a meta refresh tag a couple months back when I pushed traffic to
another hoster, but have been hosting myself since December last year.

When checking my name and email,the only thing the search engines pick
up are my posts to KLUG!

What gives?
