Seriously, I'm not quite sure this is the answer your looking for but I
have used WinSCP to move files to / from my desktop to remote dialup ssh
servers without issues. I use dns2go.com to create a virtual dns address and
connect to that. Being your going from the field to the office, don't see why
that would not work. Putty on text screens work just as well.
I would caution that long file transfers tend to puke really bad if the
connection isn't particularly good.
Actually connecting network to network, haven't had the chance to mess
with that as it's not needed here :-(
