I haven't seen out weekly links or link-of-the-week come out in awhile so,
as the program director, I thought I'd publish my own edition of
recent interesting links.
Open Office Quick Start
http://ooqstart.sourceforge.net/
This is a GNOME applett, just released, that manages Open Office in much
the same way that the Office taskbar manages that other office package on
that other operating system. It keeps an Open Office 641c or Star Office
6.0b thread running in the background at all times. This way you can
double-click or drag-n-drop files managed by OO/SO and have them open in
about a second, verses the usuall many seconds it takes these large
applications to start.
http://speedtouch.sourceforge.net/
A project developing drivers for the USB SpeedTouch ADSL modems. With the
rise of DSL broadband, one problem plaguing Linux users has been ISPs that
choose to use proprietary DSL connectivity solutions instread of the
ubiquitous ethernet port. This gives uses of Linux or x86 BSD the ability
to use that Alcatel modem directly.
http://www.turnpoint.net/wireless/has.html
Those interested in tossing their 802.11b signal out into the wide world
will be interested in this homebrew antenna shoot out. Lots of links to
designs, statistics, etc...
http://droogs.org/autodia/index.html
Developed your own code/application but dread the thought of writting
documentation? This package parses source code and produces standard UML
diagrams (dependancies, superclasses, packages, classes, inheritances,
and methods) in Dia's XML file format.
Well, I hope someone finds a couple of these useful.
