QUESTION1: Will sending a kill -sigusr1 samba.pid crash any open files on my
samba server?

QUESTION 2: Will sending a kill -SIGHUP samba.pid crash any open files?

Samba/Win98 problem.

I have not been able to prevent a Win98 0E exception error that occurs when
certain Win98 clients accesses some specific Samba shares on my cenral file
server. The error is reproducible and leads to a Win98 lockup some time
after the blue screen, generally resulting in loss of data.

I have read everything I can find on 0E exceptions on the MS knowledgebase
and every other site that google can find that lists 0E exceptions. I have
also tried several searches of the list-server archives on the Samba.org
site to see if there have been any postings about this error. I have not
found anything that will fix the problem.

I would like to try some smb.conf changes and follow the samba logs without
having to shut the whole place down.
